Exhibitions

ABC No Rio was founded by visual artists committed to political and social engagement and we retain these values to the present. We are known internationally as a venue for oppositional culture.
ABC No Rio prioritizes collective efforts and group exhibitions based on theme, with an emphasis on strong social and political content. Our mission is to present an interesting, vital, and exciting forum for artists to show work in a spirit of mutual support and camaraderie. Artists often create new work for exhibitions at ABC No Rio. Proposals are accepted and reviewed on an on-going basis by ABC No Rio’s Visual Arts Collective. If you would like to submit a proposal for an exhibition, do so here: Submit a Proposal.
ABC No Rio exhibitions are funded in part by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York State Council on the Arts.
Note: Our new building is still under construction and is set to open in July 2026. In the meantime, ABC No Rio exhibitions continue “in exile” at other venues and in collaboration with other organizations across the city. Subscribe to our mailing list and/or check out our calendar for information on our latest exhibitions.
